Dr. Moore has been practicing veterinary medicine for 25 years and serving the Southeastern Ohio community since the year 2000. Previously practicing in Lancaster, Dr. Moore is now the proud owner of Hocking Hills Animal Clinic.
When she isn't in the office, you can find Dr. Moore hiking the trails of the beautiful Hocking Hills with her best friend - a big, red, Siberian Husky!
After a hard day on the trails, the hikers return home to snuggle with a couple of cats :)
Her other interests include astronomy, geology, target archery, backpacking, trying to understand quantum mechanics, and science fiction.
There are many of us here to help you and your beloved pets.
Dr. Moore can't do it alone! We have three additional friendly and compassionate doctors as well as an outstanding support staff:
Dr. Holland is a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and has been practicing throughout Central Ohio for over 30 years. She is an exceptionally compassionate person who puts her patients first. When she's not working hard at the clinic, Dr. Holland is volunteering for Hope Blooms in Logan, snuggling with her cats and dogs, or simply bringing a smile to the face of anyone she meets! It's a privilege and a joy to have Dr. Holland at Hocking Hills Animal Clinic.
A graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Foltz is a highly valued member of our team. His relentless pursuit of knowledge combined with over 30 years of practice have made him an exceptional doctor. When he's not in the clinic, you can find Dr. Foltz engaged in one of his many interests including hiking, cooking, bicycling, and traveling to warm climates! Dr. Foltz is an amazing asset and we know how lucky we are to have him onboard.
Words can hardly describe how excited we are to have Dr Hayes on our team!! Words will have to do... and they are coming.... stay tuned!
Cristi is a 2014 Honors Graduate of Bradford School of Veterinary Technology and is a Licensed Veterinary Nurse (Registered Veterinary Technician). She is extraordinarily passionate about veterinary medicine and finds it to be a rewarding career. Cristi's superpowers include mega-multi-tasking, perpetual patience, and ultra-organizing. On the weekends, she enjoys working on the farm with her family in the company of many animals - especially her beloved, pampered chickens.
Cristi has rescued many wayward animals, but the most outstanding is a rotten beagle who knows how to 'keep things interesting!”
That flash you see is Dixie! With experience in emergency medicine, Dixie is quick to care for our patients. She has been with Hocking Hills Animal Clinic since 2015 after moving to Ohio from Arizona. A graduate of Mesa Community College, Dixie has been working as a veterinary technician since 2006. She’s honed her skills in emergency medicine, specialty practice, and general medicine.
When not at the clinic, a Chihuahua named Tug (a.k.a. The Dog Father), is her boss. When Tug gives her some time off, she enjoys country-western dancing with her husband, raising her family, and playing with her German Shepherd, Alma.
During the 2020 pandemic, Dr. Moore, possibly as a result of too much time in isolation, theorized that she could enter a set of criteria into her laptop and have the algorithm create the perfect veterinary technician. She wanted someone who would appreciate her endless sci-fi references, the personality of C3PO, and was patient and compassionate with animals. Unfortunately, her great experiment was a colossal failure, and instead she got an English Major with a tattoo of Edgar Allan Poe's 'The Black Cat' on his arm. Upon seeing what the algorithm produced, she sighed in resignation and declared, 'At least he's a fantastic skilled and experienced RVT and - more importantly - he gets my jokes.' And, thus, Jesse, joined the team. A 2012 graduate of Columbus State Community College Veterinary Technology program, Jesse has been honing his skills in medicine for years. He is also the companion of a happy boxer named, Goose.
Able to leap tall Dachshunds in a single bound, more powerful than a toenail-resisting pug, and able to spout veterinary knowledge faster than a speeding greyhound, it's Elizabeth! With 15 years of experience in veterinary medicine, her compassion for animals is unparalleled and her commitment to our clients and patients is exemplary. When not saving animals, Elizabeth enjoys hiking, reading, and concerts.
Jane is the smiling face that welcomes you at reception. Having lived in Logan since the age of 10, and having worked at the clinic for 13 years, she knows our clients well. She’s served in many roles at the practice and is an invaluable team member as well as an asset to the community.
Jane is one of the organizers of the annual NewLex Classic Riders Toy Drive. She’s the mother of two daughters and grandmother of one grandchild. Jane says when she’s not working at the clinic, she enjoys “riding her motorcycle and hanging out with her ol’ man of 34 years!”
Rebecca is the cheery voice you hear on the other end of the phone line. With experience as a nationally-registered pharmacy technician as well as a dental assistant, Rebecca knows her way around a medical office. When she's not answering calls, scheduling appointments, filing, or performing the myriad of tasks that being a receptionist at a busy clinic demands, you can find her at car events in her exhaust-enhanced, JDM Acura.
We couldn't do it without Shirley! Working part time at the reception desk , she's invaluable in the busiest of times. It's hard to know how Shirley finds time to be at the clinic, because she has three dogs and two cats at home that she cares for too! Still, Shirley finds time to sneak in the reading of a crime novel now and then.
Jan has been at Hocking Hills Animal Clinic for more than 20 years, as has truly been the heart of the practice. She's earned some time off, so she recently decided to reduce her hours. No longer running the front desk, Jan is behind the scenes doing scheduling, bookkeeping, and other essential work.
Jan was raised in McArthur and resides there with her husband and Retrievers. She has four adult children and a grandchild. When she’s not at the clinic, Jan enjoys reading, traveling, and country music.
