Shannon Moore, DVM

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine 1995
  • Cum laude honors
  • Inducted into the Veterinary Honor Society, Phi Zeta.

Dr. Moore has been practicing veterinary medicine for over 20 years and serving the Southeastern Ohio community since the year 2000.  Previously practicing in Lancaster, Dr. Moore is now the proud owner of Hocking Hills Animal Clinic.

When she isn't in the office, you can find Dr. Moore hiking the trails of the beautiful Hocking Hills with her best friend - a big, red, Siberian Husky!

After a hard day on the trails, the hikers return home to snuggle with a couple of cats :)

Her other interests include astronomy, geology, high-performance driving, backpacking, and science fiction.

There are many of us here to help you and your beloved pets.

Dr. Moore can't do it alone!  We have two additional friendly and compassionate doctors, each with over 20 years of experience, as well as an outstanding support staff:

  • Mindy Holland

Dr. Holland is a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and has been practicing throughout Central Ohio for over 30 years.  She is an exceptionally compassionate person who puts her patients first.  When she's not working hard at the clinic, Dr. Holland is volunteering for Hope Blooms in Logan, snuggling with her cats and dogs, or simply bringing a smile to the face of anyone she meets!  It's a privilege and a joy to have Dr. Holland at Hocking Hills Animal Clinic.

  • Jim Foltz

A graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Foltz is a highly valued member of our staff.  His relentless pursuit of knowledge combined with over 30 years of practice have made him an exceptional doctor.   When he's not in the clinic, you can find Dr. Foltz engaged in one of his many interests including hiking, cooking, roller blading, bicycling, and traveling to warm climates!  Dr. Foltz is an amazing asset and we know how lucky we are to have him onboard.

  • Jan
    Office Manager

Jan has been at Hocking Hills Animal Clinic for more than 20 years, as has truly been the heart of the practice.  She's earned some time off, so in 2019, she decided to semi-retire.  No longer running the front desk, Jan is behind the scenes doing scheduling, bookkeeping, and other essential work.

Jan was raised in McArthur and resides there with her husband and two Black Labs.  She has four adult children and a grandchild.  When she’s not at the clinic, Jan enjoys reading, traveling, and country music.

  • Stacy
    RVT (Licensed Registered Veterinary Technician)

A foundation of the practice, Stacy has been at Hocking Hills Animal Clinic since its inception 23 years ago.  An honors graduate of Columbus State Community College with an Associate Degree in Applied Sciences in Veterinary Technology, Stacy is a highly skilled Registered Veterinary Technician.  But no school was needed to teach her empathy and compassion – traits she comes by naturally and exhibits every day with the patients under her trusted care.

When not working at the clinic, Stacy enjoys gardening and spending time with her husband and their many beloved “children,” Louie, a herding Australian Shepherd, and five cats that refuse to be herded:  Ike, Momma, Charlie, Hemi, and Toots.

  • Cristi
    RVT (Licensed Registered Veterinary Technician)

Cristi is a 2014 graduate of Bradford School of Veterinary Technology and is a Registered Veterinary Technician.   She is extraordinarily passionate about veterinary medicine and finds it to be a rewarding career.  On the weekends, she enjoys working on the farm with her husband in the company of many animals - especially her beloved, pampered chickens.

Cristi has rescued multiple animals, but the most outstanding is a rotten beagle named Kipper (who always knows how to keep things “interesting!”)

  • Dixie

That flash you see is Dixie!  With experience in emergency medicine, Dixie is quick to care for our patients.  She has been with Hocking Hills Animal Clinic since 2015 after moving to Ohio from Arizona.  A graduate of Mesa Community College, Dixie has been working as a veterinary technician since 2006.  She’s honed her skills in emergency medicine, specialty practice, and general medicine.

When not at the clinic, a Chihuahua named Tug (a.k.a. The Dog Father), is her boss.  When Tug gives her some time off, she enjoys country-western dancing with her husband, raising her family, and playing with her German Shepherd, Alma.

  • Jane
    Head Receptionist

Jane is the smiling face that welcomes you at reception.  Having lived in Logan since the age of 10, and having worked at the clinic for 13 years, she knows our clients well.   She’s served in many roles at the practice and is an invaluable team member as well as an asset to the community.

Jane is one of the organizers of the annual NewLex Classic Riders Toy Drive.  She’s the mother of two daughters and grandmother of one grandchild.   Jane says when she’s not working at the clinic, she enjoys “riding her motorcycle and hanging out with her ol’ man of 34 years!”

  • Shirley

We couldn't do it without Shirley!  Working part time at the reception desk , she's invaluable in the busiest of times.  It's hard to know how Shirley finds time to be at the clinic, because she has three dogs and two cats at home that she cares for too!  Still, Shirley finds time to sneak in the reading of a crime novel now and then.

  • Charles
    Assistant and Intern

A Pre-Vet student and future veterinarian, Charles has been a great addition to the team.
