Dr Moore and Reggie.
Shannon Moore, DVM
Dr. Moore has been practicing veterinary medicine for 27 years and serving the Southeastern Ohio community since the year 2000. Having previously practiced in Xenia and Lancaster, Dr. Moore has been the proud owner of Hocking Hills Animal Clinic since 2016.
When she isn't in the office, you can find Dr. Moore hiking the trails of the beautiful Hocking Hills with her best friend - a big, red, Siberian Husky!
After a hard day on the trails, the hikers return home to snuggle with a couple of cats :)
Her other interests include astronomy, geology, target archery, backpacking, trying to understand quantum mechanics, and science fiction.
Jake Eier, DVM
The term "GOAT" describes Dr Eier in a couple of ways. First, he has a passion for caprine medicine and owns a Show-Goat business. Second, he may be the 'Greatest Of All Time' when it comes to associate veterinarians!
Calm, compassionate and knowledgeable, his skills don't end with caprines. Dr. Eier excels at companion-animal medicine and is beloved by our staff, clients, and patients.
An indispensable member of our team, we are lucky have Dr. Eier at Hocking Hills Animal Clinic.
There are many of us here to help you and your pets.
The doctors can't do it alone! We have additional friendly and compassionate part-time doctors as well as an outstanding support staff:
Dr. Holland is a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and has been practicing throughout Central Ohio for over 30 years. She's an exceptionally compassionate person who puts her patients first. Though she keeps trying to retire, we keep calling her in! When she's not working hard at the clinic, Dr. Holland is volunteering for Hope Blooms in Logan and bringing a smile to the face of anyone she meets!
Cristi is a 2014 Honors Graduate of Bradford School of Veterinary Technology and is a Licensed Veterinary Nurse (Registered Veterinary Technician). She is extraordinarily passionate about veterinary medicine and finds it to be a rewarding career. Cristi's superpowers include mega-multi-tasking, perpetual patience, and ultra-organizing. On the weekends, she enjoys working on the farm with her family in the company of many animals - especially her beloved, pampered chickens.
Cristi has rescued many wayward animals, but the most outstanding is a rotten beagle who knows how to 'keep things interesting!”
During the 2020 pandemic, Dr. Moore went in search of the perfect addition to a busy and growing team. She wanted someone who was patient and compassionate with animals, had great clinical skills, and would appreciate her endless sci-fi references. Fortunately, her search yielded a skilled, experienced RVT, who - most importantly - get's her geeky jokes. And, thus, Jesse, joined the team. An English Major and 2012 graduate of Columbus State Community College Veterinary Technology program, Jesse has been honing his skills in medicine for years. He is also the companion of a happy boxer named, Goose.
That flash you see is Dixie! With experience in emergency medicine, Dixie is quick to care for our patients. She has been with Hocking Hills Animal Clinic since 2015 after moving to Ohio from Arizona. A graduate of Mesa Community College, Dixie has been working as a veterinary technician since 2006. She’s honed her skills in emergency medicine, specialty practice, and general medicine.
When not at the clinic, a Chihuahua named Tug (a.k.a. The Dog Father), is her boss. When Tug gives her some time off, she enjoys country-western dancing with her husband, raising her family, and playing with her German Shepherd, Alma.
Kirsten (aka 'Kam') is remarkably skilled and we are fortunate she chose to join our team. Kam graduated from Live Oaks School, completing the veterinary assisting program and is currently earning her Registered Veterinary Technician (Veterinary Nurse) license. Kam is a remarkably devoted professional, yet somehow makes time to dedicate to her husband and three dogs. Look for her lakeside as she goes fishing on the weekends!
Able to leap tall Dachshunds in a single bound, more powerful than a toenail-resisting pug, and able to spout veterinary knowledge faster than a speeding greyhound, it's Elizabeth! With more than 15 years of experience in veterinary medicine, her compassion for animals is unparalleled and her commitment to our clients and patients is exemplary. When not saving animals, Elizabeth enjoys hiking, reading, disc golf, and concerts.
A passion for working with animals drove Mariah to pursue a career as a veterinary tech, and her intelligence and compassion allow her to be excellent at it! Mariah is currently completing coursework for her Registered Veterinary Technician (Veterinary Nurse) license. She still finds time to go camping and hiking with her husband and two dogs. There may be someone even more thankful for Mariah than we are - Stewy, a rabbit she rescued that was destined to be rabbit stew!
That calm, professional, friendly voice you hear on the phone is Deb! We couldn't do it without her and we were very lucky when she decided to join our team. Somehow, she's able to juggle the numerous responsibilities that come with being a receptionist as well as being dedicated to her family. When not at the clinic, you'll find Deb with her family and multitude of animals taking walks, fishing, and enjoying the outdoors.
Jan has been at Hocking Hills Animal Clinic for more than 20 years, as has truly been the heart of the practice. She's earned some time off, so she recently decided to reduce her hours. No longer running the front desk, Jan is behind the scenes doing scheduling, bookkeeping, and other essential work.
Jan was raised in McArthur and resides there with her husband and Retrievers. She has four adult children and a grandchild. When she’s not at the clinic, Jan enjoys reading, traveling, and country music.
